User Status Badges

Eko user badging operates in two lanes. Lane 1 rewards volume of learning (total accumulated points). Lane 2 rewards depth and accuracy (challenge quality grade). Both lanes are displayed on the user profile.

Lane 1: Total Points Earned

Points accumulate across all challenge interactions. This lane reflects how much a user has engaged with the platform.

Lane 2: Challenge Quality Grade

Quality grade is calculated from challenge accuracy, response quality, and consistency. This lane reflects how well a user knows the material.

GradeBadgeDescription
90-100MastermindExceptional precision
80-89ScholarStrong command of material
70-79AdeptSolid understanding
60-69ApprenticeDeveloping competence

Design Notes

  • Lane 1 uses nouns (identity titles) — the badge is who you are based on effort.
  • Lane 2 uses a mix of nouns and adjective-style labels — the badge is what you've proven through accuracy.
  • "Scholar" appears in both lanes at different thresholds. This is intentional: a user can be a Scholar by volume (500+ points) or by quality (80-89 grade), reinforcing the term as the platform's core aspirational identity.
  • Ungraded (Lane 2, 0-59) is deliberately neutral rather than negative — it signals insufficient data, not failure.
